Problem

Aging phone system lacking features for today’s mobile business.

Analysis

Due to the limitations of their analog phone system, there was no way to connect clients to their representative in the field. Giving the client a list of cell phone numbers became cumbersome for T&T and their clients. With a growing number of unfiltered calls to the representatives’ cell phone, we all agreed something needed to be done.

Solution

With many employees working in the office and out in the field, we wanted to implement a solution to accommodate all the job roles in their complex business. By implementing our advanced managed VOIP phone system we gave them the ability to route calls from the main office to their cell phones, remote offices, or anywhere else in the world they might be. An additional benefit was the voicemail to email function. Allowing each employee to receive their voicemail from their cell phone or laptop while out of the office. During the implementation, we developed a multi-level, bilingual, virtual attendant to relieve the receptionists of answering every call and passing it on to the appropriate person. This also increased their clients’ satisfaction by being able to get to the appropriate person with ease.

Additional Benefits

By consolidating their phone system with their current IT support, T&T now has a single point of contact for any and all issues. This consolidation of vendors also helps to reduce overall support costs.

Problem

The growing number of server applications and the size of databases were increasing the demand on server resources and negatively affecting recovery times.

Analysis

Ideally each server application and database would have its own isolated environment to eliminate resource conflicts, but adding more physical servers would increase maintenance costs and would be inefficient use of system resources.

Solution

We decided to implement a virtualized server environment to allow for faster recovery times, decrease server application conflicts, and improve server resource utilization efficiency. A Dell blade server solution with shared storage was selected to replace their aging hardware, which was well suited to handle their new virtualized infrastructure.

Additional Benefits

By using blade server technology, we were also able to improve the scalability of their server hardware, making it easier to upgrade or replace failing server equipment due to the modularity of blade technology.
